Wall Dolls

The fun never stops with my new Cricut. This is my latest project - wall dolls! This doll is 10 inches tall and I mixed and matched a few things to make a Tinkerbell for little Mags. I also cut out these letters and embellished them with brads, ribbon, fibers, flowers, faux pearls and gems. I put it up with sticky tack. I told her that I had a surprise for her and she smiled and kicked her feet with excitement all the way up the stairs. I covered her eyes and then let her see the surprise. It was so cute, her jaw literally dropped and she spent the next 5 minutes staring at it and trying to tear it down from the wall. Good thing mom is smart enough to put it out of reach. I'm selling wall dolls on etsy so tell your friends!

I love you Cricut

Here is the "Holiday Edition" of what my paper doll cartridge for the Cricut can do. This is just a tiny sampling. It can also do the 3 wise men and all the barn animals, Santa's Reindeer, Mrs. Clause and much much more. There are probably over 30 other themes that the paper dool cartridge can do from mermaid, to vampire, to genie, to princess, to pioneer, to pilgirm, etc. There are a million things. I just wish I could do them all at once!! There aren't enough hours in the day for all the things I want to do with this glorious machine! I love you John! Thanks for my present!!!

5 Little Monkies

As you can see from my Etsy site I have gone craft crazy, but I save the best stuff for little Mags. Don't tell her but this Christmas she is going to get these little monkies in her stocking. Since she forgets easily right now we did play with them a little bit right after I made them. I couldn't help myself. She loved singing the song with them and soon we will have to read all of the books to her with them as well.

Recipe Request

Taylor wants to make fudge. So I need simple, yet delicious recipes. Thanks!

Guacamole

When I was 4 I got a cookbook and many cooking items. This was the begining of my love of food. The first thing I ever made from this book was guacamole. It has become my signature dish in my family and I have changed it over the years. Measurements are not precice and they aren't meant to be. Use your tastebuds as you put ingredients together and make it according to what you think tastes the best. It's very simple. That's what makes it taste so good.
2 avocados, mashed
1-2 roma tomatoes, diced
1/2 large onion, diced
1/4 c. cilantro, chopped
1 Tb. olive oil
2-3 Tb. lemon juice
salt to taste

2-3 roma tomatoes, diced
1/2 large onion, diced
1/4 c. chopped cilantro
2-3 Tb. olive oil
1-2 Tb. White vinegar
1-2 Tb. lemon juice
a few dashes of salt
a few dashes of chile powder

Great with mexican food. I also make a bacon wrapped chicken with BBQ sauce that I eat with rice. It tastes great with this salsa over top.

Rainbow Thank You

Here's a little card I made for Patti a long time ago. It's a two piece card tied together with different ribbons. The top is a white piece of paper glued onto a black piece of paper. The back is black and I used a white paint pen for writing on the inside. Flowers were created with different punches and coordinating scraps of paper. The thanks was stamped and embossed with my new favorite ink. It's a gold ink that really sparkles. I love it!!

This dish was invented by me last week and after eating it again tonight for dinner we can call it a success.

1/4 c. shredded carrots
1 green onion sliced
1/4 c. cilantro, large chop
approx. 1/2 pound steak, sliced thin
1/4 c. Thai Sweet Chili Sauce
1/4 c. water
approx. 1 Tbs. soy sauce
salt and pepper
La Choy Rice Noodles

1. Place cabbage, carrots, green onion and cilantro in a bowl.
2. In separate bowl mix Thai Sweet Chili Sauce and water. Pour over salad mixture. Let sit.
3. Slice beef and lightly salt and pepper it. Place it in a hot pan until completely cooked. Remove from heat and add soy sauce.
4. Place warm beef over salad. Garnish with La Choy Rice Noodles.

Cookie Sheet Advent Calendar

This is a cookie sheet advent calendar I made today. It was an old gross cookie sheet that was ready for the trash but of course I cannot throw anything away so I recycled it! The Merry Christmas and the numbers were cut out using the Cricut Expression that my friend Mikelle is so lucky to have. It was like magic using this machine and I must have one. Everything else was just stuff I had around the house. The red border is magnetic and travels to which day it is of the month. The last two spots are also magnets that I made from magazines, one is Santa and the other is Christ. If you click on the picture you can see the paper and other things in more detail. I barely finished it 5 minutes ago so you can still see that some of the Mod Podge hadn't dried yet. The creative options are endless with a craft like this. Love it!
